Barbara Massaro - soprano

Born in Milan in 1994, Barbara graduated in Viola and Voice from the Conservatoire G. Verdi in Milan.
She has been part of the Children’s Choir of Teatro alla Scala, where she performed in several productions as a soloist with a few of the following noteworthy conductors as Sir Andrew Davis, Zubin Mehta, Nicola Luisotti and Roland Böer. She sings the First Fairy in Mendelssohn’s Midsummer Night’s Dream with the Filarmonica La Scala for the project “Sound Music” by F. Micheli.
She is the winner of the first prize of the 2016 edition of Concorso Assami for the National art competition, representing the city of Milan and in the same year she is the winner of “Amadeus Factory” Opera category. Among other prices she is second at Concorso “Magda Oliviero” IX edition; third and audience prize at “A. Bazzini”; second at “Salvatore Licitra” Opera Competition; first price both at Piemonte Opera competition and Corsica Lirica; special prize at the XIX Ottavio Ziino international competition.
Winner of the role of Despina (Così fan tutte) at the 67° Aslico competition she sings the role at Circuito Lombardo. Steffani; Geraldine (A Hand of bridge - Barber), Adina (L’elisir d’amore - al Teatro Coccia di Novara), Aurelia (Le donne vendicate – 43° Festival della Valle d’Itria) Nannetta (Falstaff - Liverpool Philharmonic Hall), Frasquita (Carmen - Arena di Verona), Berenice (L’occasione fa il ladro - Tiroler Festspiele Erl), Zerlina e Lauretta (Don Giovanni e Gianni Schicchi - Teatro Filarmonico di Verona), Jemmy (Guglielmo Tell – Teatri del Circuito Lombardo e Teatro Verdi di Pisa), Tebaldo (Don Carlo – Teatro la Fenice), La Naiade (Ariadne auf Naxos – 46° Festival della Valle d’Itria), Tirsi (L’Angelica – 47° Festival della Valle d’Itria), Aglaja (Le grazie vendicate – Festival Vicenza in Lirica).
Many are the concerts and recitals. Bach and Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater with RAI Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale, Mozart’s Requiem and Exultate Jubilate, Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle and Debussy’s Ariettes oubliéès at Festival Slowind in Lubjana and Società del Quartetto in Milan.
